The Dollars.com auction ended at sedo.com yesterday with a 302,500 Euros price tag. Considering the history of sales generated by the domain, this is a drop in the value of the domain. Its History - Sold for $650,000 in 2007 - Listed in a Moniker.com auction around that same time in 2007 for $600,000 - Should have sold on Sedo last year for nearly $800,000, but the winner backed out and the sale was not completed. Now it has been sold for 302,500 euros [something around $388,000]
From $650,000 to $800,000 to $388,000, this domain has had a rough ride. I’ve heard guys complain about the price, that it is not worth that much. When it comes to domains- beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. In my own opinion, Whoever has it now got a good deal and will make at least a couple of hundreds of thousand dollars in the next couple of years. But then, what do I know? Let’s just wait and see.
Numeric domains are making a huge comeback. By numerics I’m refering to domain names that are just pure numbers and those that have numbers in the names Here are a couple of domains sold recently [This Last week] 94.com sold for $81,000 at AFternicDLS So guys numbers are the way to go …
While some people are complaining about lack of domain sales and not being able to make money generally due to the recession and “end of the year” lull, Moniker recently closed the deal on FLOOR.COM for $275,000 You see folks there is money to be made at any time of the year, you just have to be a smart investor.
Before you turn in the towel and give up on domain names, you need to see this. Domains are still fetching top prices. According to DNJournal, here are the top 20 sales for Mon. Dec. 1, 2008 – Sun.
